Gemma-Leigh James wins Silver award Best Female Presenter for the second year running

Gemma-Leigh James won silver award for the second year in a row in the Best Female Presenter category at the National Community Radio Awards 2020.

Gemma-Leigh presents Breakfast and the 90s edition of the Afternoon Gold ‘decades’ show on Marlow FM. She’s also the roving reporter and presents at all of the station’s big outside broadcasts, including Pub in the Park, the Marlow Town Regatta, and the Marlow Carnival however most of this year’s big events have had to be postponed.

She said: “I’m over the moon to have won silver again this year. This year has been challenging and I’m usually the roving reporter and love getting out of the studio to meet our listeners with my microphone and broadcasting from all the big events. But this award is really for the team – a lot of work went on behind the scenes to keep us all safe and to keep us broadcasting. I can’t wait to do so much more next year, let’s hope 2021 is kinder to us all”.

Congratulations also goes to presenters Amelia Slaughter who also won Silver for Best Entertainment show for ‘She Said What’ and to both Lucy Ashburner and Angie B who were both shortlisted for Young Person of the Year and Newcomer for the Year respectively.

This years ceremony was held online due to the pandemic.

Congratulations to all presenters from all at Presenter Academy, a very well-deserved recognition in what’s been a challenging year.

Gemma-Leigh is a regular speaker at our events and webinars so keep an eye out for future events.
