TV Training Academy’s Presenter Training feature on BBC

Last night TV Training Academy featured on BBC programme ‘Young Welsh & Pretty Minted.

The documentary series followers young Welsh entrepreneurs earning a living through a variety of unconventional means including 26-year-old YouTube star Daniel ‘Gonth’ Gonthier who has almost 2 million subscribers on this channel.

TV Training Academy were approached by the programme last year and asked if we could train Gonth in TV Presenting with the goal of him moving from YouTuber to Sports Presenter. Working with TV Training’s Founder and Director Brian Naylor at Pinewood Studios, Gonth learned how to present to camera for the TV, read autocue, work to time, take instructions from a director via talk-back ear piece and interview a guest.

The following day he joined TV & Radio presenter Gemma-Leigh James, who last year won silver in the best female presenter category at the Community Radio Awards on her breakfast show. This meant a pretty early morning start for the vlogger who admitted to us he enjoys his lie in’s until mid-day.

If you missed the episode you can catch up via BBC iplayer series 2, episode 6.
